Plan ahead

This is my attempt at whimsical doodling.  I stopped taking art in Jr. High, but I am sure you couldn't tell that.

---Come on. Lie to me.---

School has been on my mind. Me doing it. At home. With my kids. All at the same time.

And not killing anybody.

It was driven home to me on our recent family vacation that I have a neggative visiral reaction to anything that is planned ahaead of time.  For instance, if my husband wanted to plan to go to a Mall and have lunch at a certain resteruant, I would begin to feel tense and short of breath at the box he was putting me in.  I don't plan. I just do. The less actual thinking and work involved, the better.  What my husband could have done to appease me was, instead say, "Let's go somewhere where we can buy stuff and then maybe eat when we get hungry."

Or not.

But I am feeling tense and irriated at the need to think, and plan, and structure so that my kids can have a positive learning enviroment.

And so nobody gets killed.

That would be good, right?

Not killing is a good thing.

I admire you for even thinking of homeschooling. Wishing you luck as you decide.

Your school fairy lady looks really cute. I can tell you took art in school. :)

The doodle as you call it is so sweet - I can see it as an illustration in a children's book. Lovely.

As for the planning thing, you and I are opposites in that. I thrive on planning. Spotanaeity freaks me out a bit.

Um, structure is NOT necessary to learn at home--I promise--because if it were my choildren would be absolute idiots because structure scares the heck out of me--and they are doing all sorts of fun things, that are educational, because they want to, with no plan whatsoever.

Yes, I have to vote for the not killing part too! I think the doodle is very cute & definitely better than anything I could do.

You are a master; well done! :)
I like to fly by the seat of my pants, too; especially on vacation. That's why I only travel with like-minded friends. Good luck buckling down :)

I happen to love that doodling. Much better than my handicapped stick figures. No, I will never show you.

As to the planning thing, I plan. Then procrastinate until I end up flying by the seat of my pants too. Wait...that makes no sense.

Get over here and enter my give away.

Well, it seems the votes are unanimous for no killing.

However, I can tell you that sometimes, not planning can still lead to the desire to strangle.

Do you know what curriculum you're going to use? or are you going to be an unschooler? I probably missed that post, didn't I? remember, we're not killing anyone. *L*

love the doodle! i do love the spontaneity, but i don't care for plans that get broken from spontaneity. i am a 'but i was gonna do this!' kind of girl. if i have nothing planned? surprise me! love it!

I like the drawing.

But, I am opposite you. I like to know exactly where we will eat at the mall, what time, what I will want to order, and preferably what table I'll get...
