Procrastinate...

I am so awesome.

I overcame my natural urge to procrastinate.

Okay, maybe it took me two months, but I did it, I really did it.

I mailed the prizes for the Tea Party Comment Contest I had in June...you remember the one, right? I had two winners.

It is been a long, arduous process, but I finally got their packages mailed today.

My first problem was I kept eating the winnings.  Ummmmm. I couldn't help myself. I thought, heck, I can always go down the street to the store and buy more, can't I?  And then, when I finally summoned the will power to step away from the gifts and quite eating them, my family noticed there were snacks in the cupboard and they started eating them...So agian, I had to go down to the store and buy more.

And then we had some terriablly hot weather and I just couldn't stir myself to do anything. And then we went on vacation, and then there was more hot weather, and then I just kept putting it off until today.

Lilacspecs...your package is on it's way. It's got to go through customs, and I had to DECLARE the CONTENTS...I was really tempted to write "bomb" or something obvious.  Or maybe  outrageous and write something naughty?

I just put STUFF down...and hoped that covered it.

Kathy at "a bit of serendipity" lives a little closer to me, so she might get her package first.  I do hope the contents aren't crushed by they time they arrive, but I did my part, it is all up to the great mistress of fate and postage now. May she have mercy on my parcels.

You do remember my little tea party, don't you? Hosted by A Fanciful Twist? We had a lovely time, and I got more comments than I ever had before.  My daughter wants to know when we can do it again, since she most of the benefits of the treats.  I assume that she is like most little girls, wanting to set things up, decorate, and eat sweet stuff. My oldest son just turned ten and she didn't know why he didn't want pink streamers and balloons and bubbles for his party. Doesn't everyone want pink for their party?  He did have pink candles, however.  Sorry son, but that is all I had on hand. I hope you aren't scared for life.

Oh, and I wanted to say here that I am so impressed, so bowled over, by  blog-friend holly's recent comedic adventures. She took to the stage on open mike night and shared some of her funny with the world.  I was laughing so hard when she talked about self medicating the bottom area after child birth... the directions of the cream said apply gently, and holly, just took it from there... She got up in front of people and just went with it. How awesome is that?  I'd give her an award for her awesome-ness but she already has so many of those she could buy stuff with them.

Other than that...we had an arrival after that Big Madd Tea Party, and I wanted to share him with the world, but he's sleeping right now, so...maybe in the next post?

I seem to have a pathological condition that causes me to avoid sending out packages.

Procrastination was taught to me by my father who insisted that it's always better to not do today anything that can be put off until tomorrow.

Bottom line; I end up overnighting most of my Christmas gifts.

I don't know why I put things off for as long as I do... they eat at me and I lose sleep knowing that I have this or that task still lingering but yet, I put it off again. why, why, why?? Blessings... Polly

Somehow I missed the devel comment then... ???

Her story isn't one that would normally have thrilled me either. (Interesting about the first person novels! you fascinate me!)
What I think really grabbed me (and is why I didn't like the last book to the series) is the way she writes human emotion. I've never seen it written so well...
